Breath of Life©

Forgive, even when your heart’s been broken
Think before each word is spoken

Regard not the ugly people say
End not your day in trifling dismay

Be the first to say: “I’m sorry”
You won’t live your days in worry

Don’t forget to say: “I love you”
And prove always this is true

Then when kiss of death falls on your lips
And all of life before you slips

Your heart forever will be satisfied
Embracing the moment past with present and future collide

As life’s final breath you doth exhale
Your soul shall find peaceful rest in the forever-after vale

  1. Good advice from beginning to end. I especially like this line: “Be the first to say: “I’m sorry”. Only two words but so difficult for so many.

Could you imagine if just one half of 1% of the population followed these words? It would be a different place, that’s for sure!

    1. Hi Michael. I like your perspective—if only 1%, it would definitely make our world a healthier more peaceful place. For anyone who really must have the final word, “I’m sorry” works perfectly. Thanks for stopping by and engaging. Cheers, Dee

    1. Absolutely Shweta. And it starts with our thoughts. Intellectually i know the importance of managing my thoughts but often I let them derail me. So even as I write I’m talking to myself. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate you. Dee
