As we’re at this mid-point of the week, it’s a good time for reflection.
Experience flows from expectation.
If we expect awfulness from life and loved ones, awfulness shows up every time. BUT, if we expect greatness, then greatness tends to emerge instead.

Wishing you a lovely rest of the week. Happy hump day!!!

Very often this happens. I think with our expectations, we precipitate this behavior

I often hear people say they have no expectations so they won’t be disappointed. I don’t think you cannot not have expectations. I think if you root them in authentic, trust worthy relationships even when expectations are not met that experience is still wholesome.

From my brothers, I don’t have any expectations as I know I’ll be disappointed. From my husband, I do have the expectation that he’ll look after me and my needs and he always does. As for my children, I think it’s better not to burden them with the weight of expectations!

Better to talk to ourselves than listen to ourselves! Thanks for raising expectations for the rest of the week, Dee 🙂

Lynn that’s profound. Yes sometimes we gotta talk to ourselves. When King David was gravely distressed he encouraged himself in the Lord. If he had listened to himself in that moment no telling what he would have written instead (if anything at all) 🙏🏽🙏🏽
