Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. didn’t choose comfort. He chose the slow, costly work of justice, knowing resistance would be fierce and progress uneven. He understood that intimidation and discrimination aren’t accidents—they’re tools meant to exhaust resolve. This explains why his response was to be persistent.
Honoring Dr. King means resisting the urge to romanticize the past and instead committing to the unfinished work in front of us—justice, equity and equality!
