Be Like A Lighthouse ©Dawn Minott

I don’t chase ships.
I stand.

Rooted in rock,
I hold my ground
while waters beat around me.

I shine—
not louder when it’s dark,
not softer when it’s calm—
just steady,
just sure.

If you see me,
you can follow.
If you don’t,
I do not move to convince you.

My rhythm is not reaction—
it is intention,
set long before storm winds arrived.

I am not here to force direction.
I am here to offer it:

To warn.
To guide.
To protect.

I know why I was built.
I knew it before the first wave rose.

So I remain—
anchored in purpose,
aligned in word and deed,
unchanged by pressure,
unmoved by noise.

I am a lighthouse.
