Star-crossed love

Kept apart
Love’s yearning melody
Unsung
Silent desire
Celestial duet, hidden
Secretly
Held close
Burning, clandestine emotions
Constellations
Sole witness

Love never forgets

Afterword: Hay(na)ku is a very simple poetic form and one of the newest. It was inaugurated on the Web on June 12th, 2003 (Philippines Independence Day) by Filipino poet Eileen Tabios (b. 1960). Three lines—L1: one word; L2: two words; L3: three words.

star-crossed lovers – will always find their way 💕

I Hope that is indeed the case. To go through your entire life and not be loved fully and outright would be very very sad. Begs the question: what good is love if it’s a tightly held secret?!

Hey David. Thanks a mil. I wrote the title as part of a 6-word-story post November 2021 and been sitting on the idea of a full poem. A few days ago I dusted it off from draft but couldn’t find just the right poetic form till now. This is one of those pieces where the prompt and a draft poem are perfectly aligned. Glad you like it to the point of stuttering (that’s cute). And thanks for being a super host with these great prompts. Cheers 🙏🏽😊🙏🏽

Thanks. I thought what would be the common thing between two star/crossed lovers than a secret of their love so impenetrable that only the cosmos know its depth — a love lost then found.

Thanks much. I started writing this piece last year. It was sitting in draft waiting for the right poetic form to communicate it through and the hay(na)ku was the perfect fit! Glad you like it. Cheers
