He Hears Me ©Dawn Minott

He hears me
Even the prayer I didn’t pray
The words I don’t know to speak
The needs I dare not ask

He hears me
My groans, my trembling whispers
Before I formulate a cry for help
He dispatches all I need

He hears me
When I sing
Setting the sentiments of my heart adrift
When my praise is only lifted hands

He hears me
When others lift me up in prayer,
He leans in and says, “That’s my girl
And He responds

He hears me
He hears me in the quietest shout
He hears me in the loudest silence
He hears my heart

In my silence
In my shouts
In my stumbling
My God hears me
