End of “Journey of Love in June” Series—Hold Heart With Both Hands ©Dawn Minott

Beforeword:Throughout June (the month of love), I focused on Eros (Erotic Love)—posting 30 poems, starting with the pantoum, “Journey of Love in June”.

These poems portrayed the complexities of romantic relationships—the passion and intensity, the break-up and the make-up. Some explored themes of intimacy and deep connection, capturing both emotional and physical attraction. Others highlighted the enduring nature of romantic love. Those relationships that evolve over time through reason, duty, and shared long-term interests, like in enduring relationships and marriages.

In this final post on romantic love, I explore the coming together of seemingly opposites, commitment, and stability in the piece titled:

“Hold Heart With Both Hands”

In the uniqueness of our differences
we intertwine like threads
woven into a tapestry of togetherness
a mosaic of conversations
words becoming bridges
bridging chasms

You, with your laughter like sunlight
illuminating the corners of my solitude
weaving warmth into the fiber of our days
where opposites blend in perfect grace

And in this pairing
this divine irony
I find myself unfolding
unarmored
discovering a new rhythm to love
one that lingers
one that heals
one that holds my heart with both hands
